MECHANISM 1

In this section you will learn the most important thing about expressing yourself in English (or in any other language, in fact) : flexibility

Let me start off by disappointing you : you will NEVER have enough words and phrases to express exactly what you think and feel! Think about some situations where you couldn’t find the right way to describe your emotions or options even in your own language?

Does it mean you have to give up and stay silent all the time? There are certainly better ways, and the best of them is to develop reflexes that will help to think fast and rephrase your ideas.

Task: for each phrase, find another way of saying the same thing by using the word given, without changing it.

Example: I don’t know Italy personally. BEEN
Answer : I have never been to Italy.

Of course, sometimes several answers are possible. Try to do the exercises pretty fast: don’t think too much, and if you are not sure, just click on the triangle to get the correction. Your brain will memorize the different possibilities, and you will soon notice an improvement in your expression.

FLEX YOUR WAY THROUGH THESE PHRASES:
